General Access
Welcome
to the Oracle Applications 11i Release
11.5.9 Vision access page! This environment is a
complete functional implementation of the Oracle Applications
11i Release 11.5.9 Vision demonstration environment
offered by Solution Beacon as a courtesy to all visitors. In order
to maintain integrity of the environment, each user will be assigned
an individual username and password for their own personal use.
The assigned user will have the same responsibilities as
the default operations user
and no restrictions will be placed on the security and applications
access for the new user.
In order to access the environment, each new user will need to
complete the Release 11.5.9 Vision User
Registration form!
You will need to supply an email address and a CSI# (Oracle
Customer Identifier). When
the form is submitted, your unique username/password will be
generated automatically and will be emailed to the address provided.
Once you receive the email, you will be able to login to the Vision
environment and enjoy the same access levels as the default
operations user. Note: Your email account is not used for
any other purpose, other than to send you the notification of your
username and password. Solution Beacon does not distribute email
addresses or share them with any other parties.
Database Access
Due to
security restrictions and firewall issues, we are unable to
allow network access to the backend databases that support the
Solution Beacon 11i Vision environments or provide passwords to the
Oracle database schema accounts.
To maintain data
consistency, we will be implementing a periodic
refresh process. On an as-needed basis, the 11.5.9 Vision
instance will be restored from backup. The restored environment will
be identical to the default 11.5.9 Vision environment, except all
users that have completed the registration process will have their
user information restored as well. All user information
(including passwords) will be restored to the
initial values generated by the Release 11.5.9 Vision
User Registration. Data changes made to the Vision environments
will not be preserved. This includes transactions, setups, or
additional user information. Should you have any special needs
requiring a dedicated instance for a short period of time
and have an active Oracle CSI number send us an
email at r11ivision@solutionbeacon.com.
Availability
As a general rule, the
Release 11.5.9 Vision instances are
normally available 24/7, except during a refresh period as
noted in the Refresh Schedule above. There are no explicit
or implied guarantees with regards to availability or performance.
If you experience any issues with the instances please send us an
email at r11ivision@solutionbeacon.com.
JInitiator Help
The Release 11.5.9 Vision
environment uses the same underlying
java framework as normal Oracle 11i applications. Therefore,
if you do not have JInitiator (version 1.1.8.16)
already installed, you will be required to download and install the
standard JInitiator plugin supplied with 11i applications.
Follow these instructions if you need help.
If you already have JInitiator (version 1.1.8.16) installed, it is
not necessary to install it again. However, you
will need to load the java identity. When
prompted, click the Open button (Windows XP) or the Run button
(Windows 2000) and the batch file will load the correct digitial
certificate for the 11i Vision instances. Otherwise, you may
receive java errors when loading the
Forms 6i user interface.
We have had many users
send us email requesting help with getting JInitiator
and the Oracle Forms mode interface to work. In most cases we have
found the problem is due to popup
blocking software. Before sending us an email
requesting help, check to be sure that you do not have popup
blocking software enabled. The Oracle Forms mode interface needs to
open several additional browser windows and if it is blocked, Oracle
Forms and JInitiator will fail to load.
Another common problem
involves caching temporary files such as jar files,
cookies, etc. In some cases, clearing these cache files will solve
the problem. Use the browserclean.bat program to
clear these types of temporary files on your system. When prompted,
click the Open button (Windows XP) or the Run button (Windows
2000).
